RunPee 2.0 is live

After many, many, hours of coding I’m happy to announce that RunPee 2.0 is live. There’s still much to do but the essential features are there for you to enjoy now.

The Big Dif
The primary update is to enable multiple languages and regions. From the upper-right you can select the language that you want the interface and Peetimes to be displayed in. ( Read this if you would like to help with the translations. ) The translations are done automatically by Google Translate. So if they seem a bit awkward that’s why.

The Regions selection gives users the option to select the area that they live in so that the list of movies will be relevant to them. I use IMdb.com when I add movies to the RunPee database.  If a country isn’t listed in the release data for a movie then it gets the default date which is when it comes out in the USA.

What’s to Come
I have many more features to add:

What’s Missing
There is no longer any way for the public to add Peetimes for a movie. It turns out that very few people ever did this. So I didn’t bother adding it back in. There is now a completely different private website for adding data. That helps clean up the interface of RunPee.com a little bit.

Going Mobile
Good news, there is a version of RunPee that should run on just about any phone browser. Go to m.RunPee.com and check it out. It costs $1 a year if you want to get access to movies that have been out for less than 31 days. For older movies it’s free.

Read this if you are interested in the future plans for a mobile version of RunPee.com.

@Dietrick, Yep, Palm Pre is on the list to get Flash Player 10.1 support. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it’s all ready to fly before the summer blockbusters roll out.
